Plastic surgery is a general term for operative manual and instrumental treatment which is performed for functional or aesthetic reasons. The word 'plastic' derrives from the Greek 'plastikos' meaning to mould or to shape. It is not connected with modern plastics.

The principal areas of plastic surgery include two broad fields.

  • Reconstructive surgery, including microsurgery, which focuses on undoing or masking the destructive effects of trauma, surgery or disease. Such plastic surgery may include closing defects by transplantion of tissue from other parts of the body.
  • Cosmetic (or aesthetic) surgery, which most is often done to change features the patient finds unflattering. In a few cases, however, there may be medical reasons (for example, breast reduction when orthopedic problems are present).

Research is in hand and it would seem that in a certain number of cases liftings can be differed or replaced by less invasive techniques calling upon special wire rather has other techniques of suspension.

The face lift remains the technique most adapted at the person of ripe age or if the skin "is prematurely damaged" by an excess of sunning, for example (heliodermy).

The processes is here address typically to the women or to the older men from 35 to 55 years.

New methods are currently under study or of evaluation and will certainly be improved, like always, with the experiment.

Nevertheless, they present few risks since they call upon products known and approved by all the experts (wire) placed under local anaesthesia and that one can withdraw if necessary.

There will  be no hospitalization nor of incapacity.

There are very few visible marks after the intervention; the cicatricial raçon is tiny or null (the points of puncture replace the scars!)

The cost of the intervention is definitely lower than that of a face lift.
